Screen Printing is the process of pulling ink through an image burned screen onto t-shirts and other garments. Once we have your artwork in the proper format, we have then have to take the design apart with a process called color separation. Each color of the design will have its own screen. Each color has to be printed out on a film positive.
From there, the film positives go to the screen department where screens have been prepped with emulsion. Each positive is then burned onto a separate screen for each color. The image is then rinsed out. Screens are then loaded onto the screen printing machine where they are prepared with tape and ink for printing.
For more than one color, each design then needs to be registered to be sure that the colors line up where they are supposed to. Then the garment is loaded on to the platens and the printing begins using squeegees to push the ink through the mesh screens onto the shirt. The shirt is then placed into the dryer where the ink is cured at 320 degrees
